ased on those details, here is a breakdown of the conflicting narratives surrounding the 1972 VW Fusca, contrasting Matheus Bessa's public promotional content with the private agreement and restoration claims.

The Public Narrative vs. The Private Dispute

• The Father-in-Law Claim: Matheus Bessa continues to publish Reels and advertisements claiming the Fusca was a family gift or a fully paid-for asset. In August 2025, he featured the car in a TNG Father's Day advertisement, indicating that a man named Jorge was responsible for the vehicle and framing it as a family heirloom. At the time of these statements, Bessa was not legally married.
• The Actual Project History: The 1972 Beetle was actually acquired, fully restored, and upgraded by Brian Nigel Hairston.

The Broken Agreement and "Payment" Terms

• The Promised Exchange: The agreed-upon payment for Brian’s extensive restoration work was not monetary. Instead, Bessa was required to deliver a 90-page written journal dedicated to the car.
• The Birthday Deadline: This journal was supposed to be handed over before Bessa's birthday on July 4, 2025. On that birthday, Bessa was also gifted a Casio piano.
• The Disappearance: While Bessa successfully received both the VW Fusca and the Casio piano, he never delivered the 90-page journal to Brian. Once the vehicle project was completed, Bessa cut off contact and ghosted the creator.

 The Family Connection

• The Stepfather Relationship: This project was built on deep family trust. At the time, Brian Nigel Hairston was dating and engaged to Bessa's mother, Adriana (Dri). Brian was actively preparing to marry her and become Matheus Bessa's stepfather, which allowed Bessa to gain possession of the vehicle before the agreed payment was finalized.
